Our Story

Where It All Began

WYOld West Brewing Company was formed in early 2014 by a group of local visionaries with the goal of bringing great food and great beer to Powell and the surrounding area. The building it now sits in once served as Powell’s bowling alley and, more recently, an appliance store prior to being purchased and renovated into the beautiful space it is today.

Opened in phases, the now-defunct retail liquor store and tasting room (located in the very front of the building) was the first part of the business opened to the public in February of 2015. The spectacular pub area followed soon thereafter, and the front space was quickly re-purposed into a makeshift pizza kitchen to satiate the hunger of our growing customer base. Our pizza kitchen opened in October of 2015 and was a rousing success! With plans already in place for a kitchen upgrade and expansion, our efforts shifted to the completion of the brewery.

Our first beer — G-Street Pale Ale — was brewed in late January of 2016 and rolled out along with 3 other varieties at our “official” Grand Opening on February 27th! Since that time we’ve brewed over 12 different beers and we have plans for many more!

Our long awaited kitchen & menu expansion was completed in late September of 2016. Focusing on a line-up of delectable burgers and chicken sandwiches, as well as new appetizers and salads, it has been very well received by loyal and new customers alike! It has been an honor and a privilege to serve the people of this great community. We have many plans for the future, and we look forward to continued growth and prosperity with the full understanding that WWBC simply would not exist without the tremendous support of the people in this amazing place we call home!

Sage Creek IPA

This American IPA features Columbus, Simcoe, and Centennial hops balanced with local grown barley malt, crystal malt, and acidulated malt. Full of body and flavor this is Our Flagship IPA

Outlaw Justice Pale Ale

Our Pale Ale is for the beer aficionado and newcomer alike. Crisp, clean and refreshing, Outlaw Justice presents a complex blend of Chinook and Citra hops with the finest 2 row and crystal barleys. No whiners!

Kilted Cowboy

Kilted Cowboy is our take on a traditional Scotch Ale. Rich malt aroma

and flavor dominate with a touch of smoke from the use peat smoked malt. Heather tips are added to impart a pleasing aroma and smooth bitterness. Hop levels emphasize the rich malt flavor of this unique and complex brew.

Heart Mountain Hefeweizen

An American Wheat Ale featuring wheat malt. Yellow/gold in color with a mellow citrus hop aroma. Medium body, mild yeast and wheat flavors, along with the perfect balance of malt and hops.

Mule Deer Pilsner

Created with the Wyoming Chapter of the Mule Deer Foundation, a portion of all sales go to their mission. This crisp, drinkable German Pilsner highlights Idaho Pilsner malt and German Perle Hops in a delicate and refreshing balance.

Bronc Buster Blonde

This golden ale is made with Premium Brewers malt, Goldpils Vienna malt, and Carapils and utilizing East Kent Goldings hops. Smooth and easy drinking, Bronc Buster is a great alternative to mass produced beers. Crisp clean, and slightly floral, our Bronc Buster Blonde is perfect for those new to craft beer or the seasoned beer lover looking for something lighter.

That ?#@! Jalapeno Ale

Arriba! Its back! A delicious golden ale infused with fresh jalapenos, with all the flavor and none of the heat. This beer is one to savor, enjoy it while it lasts! Cheers! Brewed with premium brewers malt, munich malt and Aztec hops

Flying Diamond Peanut Butter Stout

Named for local bull riding legend Kanin Asay’s Bucking Bull Ranch, this unique offering can’t be missed. Creamy textures of chocolate and peanut butter are balanced with the sweet addition of Milk Sugar and Northern Brewer hops. A delicious dark beer for the season! Kanin’s bulls are fed the spent grain from our mash and love the dark stuff!

WYPA

A collaboration with the Wyoming Brewers Guild, this session IPA is Highly drinkable and in the West Coast style. Made with Chinook and Cascade hops. $5.00 Special!

WYOld Mountain Wheat IPA

A collaboration with our good friend at Mountain Hops Brewing in Casper, this fruity full bodied IPA is unique and exceptional. Hopped with CTZ, Comet (from Powell!)

and Emerald Spire. Enjoy this new tasty brew!

Sleepy G Porter

Rich, decadent, and balanced this beloved porter is a favorite of the dark beer lovers in the area! Robust, full of chocolate and hoppy Cascade goodness

REVENGE OF THE RODEO CLOWN

This red ale is dominated by complexity. It features an interplay of local barley and crystal malts with local hops- Nugget from Lovell, Comet from Powell and Makinac from Bozeman (via a broker from Powell!) The result is a malty, hoppy mix full of flavors and character! Enjoy!
